Aravind Venugopal joined Screen Digest in January 2009. Apart from providing coverage of the Indian television markets, Aravind also covers developments in the Nordics, Dutch and Swiss markets, as well as Israel. At Screen Digest, Aravind has worked on several key consultancy projects and reports on the television industry, including authoring a report on global broadcast signal piracy trends for the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). The report and its findings are part of WIPOs ongoing attempts to examine global piracy, and influence key decision makers in member countries of the need for strengthened copyright regulations. Aravind has also written reports examining media regulations in India, and the evolution of HD services in the Scandinavian countries.
Aravind holds an M.A in Media Management from the University of Westminster, and a first class degree in commerce (B.Com) from the University of Pune, India. Prior to joining Screen Digest, he worked in the creative side of the radio industry, including a stint at the Arabian Radio Network, Dubai.
