London, 30 October 2008: Screen Digest is pleased to announce that Edward Catchpole, Senior Vice President, Toys & Electronics, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) Europe has joined the line-up of keynote speakers at the forthcoming Screen Digest PEVE Digital Entertainment 2009 which takes place on 12-13 March 2009 in Paris.
Edward Catchpole is responsible for developing and promoting all licensed toy products, from consumer electronics through to plush, games and puzzles, for a company that is not only synonymous with quality children's entertainment but has also been a pioneer in developing the concept of video for kids.
As Senior Vice President, Toys & Electronics for DCP Europe, Catchpole is responsible for every aspect of the European toy business, from product innovation and development to key licensee and retailer relationships in each market. As the home entertainment business becomes increasingly commoditised, the parallels between DVDs and 'consumer products' become ever stronger. Catchpole's extensive experience of the branding and promotional strategies employed in this sector, and his history of developing licensing and franchise opportunities for many of the same global brands that drive Disney's home entertainment operations, mean he is ideally placed to give the home entertainment industry insights into how to tailor products to specific sector needs.
In keeping with the tradition established in 2008, the Screen Digest PEVE conference programme will be driven by a series of keynote speeches by leading figures in the home entertainment industry and beyond. In addition to Edward Catchpole, other confirmed speakers include Kelley Avery, President, Paramount Worldwide Home Entertainment and Eddie Cunningham, President, Universal Pictures International Home Entertainment.
The two-day programme will address the key issues facing today's home entertainment sector, including:
• Blu-ray Disc, Digital Copy, Flash – the future of packaged media;
• Emerging business models in digital distribution;
• How the home entertainment supply chain is meeting the needs of an evolving industry;
• Bringing 3D content to the home;

and much more.
