This dataset tracks annual TV-based and handheld console unit sales for Japan, split by console name. It includes five year forecasts for games console sales in Japan. The console games business is largely cyclical and growing annual hardware sales suggests the market is maturing whilst year on year declines often indicate that the hardware is in the latter half of its lifecycle.
