Set-top box deals

Amino

Vodafone Iceland has selected UK-based set-top box manufacturer Amino for the next stage of its IPTV service rollout. The deal will see Vodafone Iceland deploy both standard and high definition Amino set-top boxes, equipped with broadcast, video-on-demand and catch-up capabilities.

 

Conditional Access deals

Irdeto

Optus, a satellite-based communications service provider across Australia and New Zealand, has selected Irdeto's conditional access system for its delivery of digital free-to-air services.

Verimatrix

Hong-Kong-based Anyplex will secure its over-the-top video-on-demand service with Verimatrix content authority system (VCAS) for Internet TV. As Anyplex seek to deliver video content to a variety of consumer devices, Verimatrix's VCAS technology will secure delivery over unmanaged networks.

 

Middleware deals

Seachange

Seachange International will bring VividLogic, a tru2way software stack, to French consumer electronic vendor Technicolor's next generation of set-top boxes. By integrating VividLogic into its set-top boxes, Technicolor will enable multiple service operators to rollout advanced boxes capable of interactive tru2way consumer applications.

 

Network Deals

Pace

Canal Digital Sweden, a television distribution network, will deploy UK-based Pace's head end platform as part of a nationwide upgrade of SMATV head ends. The new head end will enable Canal Digital Sweden to expand its broadcasting infrastructure to deliver digital and high-definition television services.
