> End2End signs mobile games deals with Vodafone

Danish mobile content distribution specialist End2End has signed deals with Vodafone in Turkey and New Zealand to provide a managed mobile games service. End2End's Content Retailing Solution, a fully outsourced, managed and hosted mobile games retailing service, will be deployed, including content sourcing and deployment, retail management and settlement. In both cases the service will be branded as Vodafone's own games service. End2End recently acquired Sweden's Terraplay, allowing the firm to integrate global cross-operator connected gaming, community and multiplayer games into its Content Retailing Solution.

Our take...
A growing trend in the delivery of mobile content is for mobile network operators to outsource the management of content delivery to specialist companies. While this is very common in mobile video and mobile music, many operators have not yet outsourced games services. These deals come quickly after End2End's acquisition of Terraplay, which gave the company not only mutliplayer technology and in-game billing, but specialist expertise and business acumen in the mobile games industry.
Screen Digest expects to see more outsourcing of mobile games services and further deployment of multiplayer and community games platforms as the mobile games market continues to mature and looks for new revenue streams.
