Nokia includes Google in its search client
Nokia added Google to the search services porvided in its Nokia Search application, which already features MSN and Yahoo search. The integration will begin with a selection of handsets and territories that will expand over the year to 100 countries and over 40 languages.
Our take... Although competing in some areas of mobile advertising, Nokia and Google both benefit from a collaboration as mobile Internet needs both easy to use devices and familiar browsing environments. By adding Google to Yahoo and MSN, Nokia credibilises its mobile search tool and probably secures a search advertising revenue sharing deal with the search giant. Google on the other hand improves its mobile presence on more devices ahead of the launch of its Android mobile platform due in late 2008.
