Italian cable operator Fastweb and Sky Italia have agreed to work more closely together in the Italian pay TV market with a cross-marketing deal and extension of the carriage agreements for Sky Italia content. Under the deal, Sky will offer new and existing subscribers Internet and telephony packages from Fastweb, while Fastweb will offer the entire Sky channel range on its IPTV platform. Prior to this deal, Fastweb had distributed only Sky Italia's premium packages through its IPTV service. Significantly for Sky Italia, the deal will allow the company to offer its full range of channels to customers in apartment blocks unable to receive content via DTH. Launch of the new services by both companies is expected by the end of March 2007.
