Comparative hi-def data tables now available for Video Intelligence subscribers

Hi-def hardware and software data and forecasts 'by all countries' have now been added to Screen Digest's Video Intelligence service. Subscribers can now access key information across all available territories, allowing for comparative study. Data and forecasts are currently available for Europe's Big 5 markets (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain), Belgium, Netherlands, the US and Australia. Japan is to be added shortly - other countries will follow. Areas tracked include:

Hardware households: number of hi-def player/recorder and hi-def games console households from 2006 with forecasts to 2011, split by format (Blu-ray Disc, HD DVD, total hi-def).

Hardware penetration: penetration of hi-def player/recorder and hi-def games consoles from 2006 with forecasts to 2011, split by format. Rates are calculated for both TV households and HDTV households.

Software - Hi-def: retail hi-def software data (volume, value, average price) split for distributor and consumer level in euros and US $.
