David Hancock, Screen Digest's Head of Cinema, presented an overview of European digital cinema progress and approaches in order to set the context for his panel discussion at Cine Expo 2010 in Amsterdam. The presentation gives latest d-screen numbers in Europe, tracks third-party integrator progress in signing screens to their Virtual Print Fee programmes, defines the size of the digital shortfall faced by the continent and summarises some of the approaches being taken by public sector and other bodies towards digital conversion.
