David Hancock, IHS Screen Digest's Senior Principal Analyst for Cinema, was invited by the Ministry of Culture to give the keynote speech at the 2nd International Conference on Digitisation of Cinemas in Bogota, Colombia. The conference focused on the difficulties being experienced by Colombia and Latin America in general in finding the financial model and public funds to help the region convert its cinemas to digital technologies adhering to the global standard. The speech focused on global digital cinema market development, screen infrastructure breakdown comparisons, the VPF model, alternative content, electronic distribution of movies and the end of 35mm.
