Piracy case studies: Spain and Sweden

March 25, 2011

Video analyst Tony Gunnarsson gave a presentation at PEVE Entertainment 2011 in London outlining European legislative responses to piracy, focusing on two case studies: Spain and Sweden. Presentation assesses the impact of physical and online piracy on the Spanish video market and outlines the Spanish government's latest anti-piracy law (Ley Sinde) and looks at the short and long term result of Swedish anti-piracy law IPRED. Presentation argues that official legislation typically takes one of two approaches: targeting individuals who pirate, or the points of distribution of pirated content. Also includes outline of legislative response to piracy taken in the UK, Germany and France
