In this Industry Report
The iPhone has had a significant impact on the mobile games industry. It has boosted the demand for mobile content and opened the market to smaller publishers, presenting a challenge to the big players. While the big three mobile games publishers, EA Mobile, Gameloft and Glu Mobile all saw revenues grow in 2008, Screen Digest believes that their market share experienced a slight decline. New platforms such as the iPhone, along with Nokia's N-Gage and Google's Android mobile operating system are expected to be key drivers of growth in 2009.
This quarterly report combines Mobile Media Intelligence data and analyst commentary covering publishers' financial results, new title releases, mobile games market revenues and forecasts in areas covered by Screen Digest Mobile Media Intelligence: Europe, North America, Japan, South Korea, India and China.
Highlights: - EA Mobile remains the top publisher with record $48m Q4 revenues and is on track to reach its fiscal 2009 revenue target.
