In this Industry Report
The Q3 IPTV market monitor examines the trends seen in each market in the third quarter 2009. This report combines Television Intelligence data and analyst commentary to examine trends in uptake, business models, revenue and regulation across the IPTV space.
Over 150 companies across six regions (North America, Western and Eastern Europe, MEA, Asia-Pacific and Latin America) are assessed on an ongoing basis as part of our research into the IPTV sector.
Highlights: - Asia-Pacific IPTV net additions overtake North American additions, following growth declines from US telco Verizon's FiOS TV service
- Including football channel GolTV in its basic package has revitalised Spanish IPTV frontrunner Imagenio's subscriber additions, with the provider increasing net additions by 39,000 Q-on-Q
- The French market has become even more crowded, with Bouygues Telecom's BBox picking up 173,000 subscribers in a year of operation
- Little change in regulatory environment in South America; however deployed services have shown steady, if unspectacular growth.
