Highlights:

• Q3 2010 has been a prolific quarter on the M&A front. With 55 deals accounted for, just 3 deals short of the record set in the previous quarter.
• Google, Apple, Research in Motion, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoDoMo and Yahoo are among the companies having closed acquisitions in Q3 2010.
• With no less than 7 deals in the quarter, Google is more than ever commited to growing its mobile presence.
• On a year-on-year basis the number of funding was stable with 71 deals. The number of deals in however down 23% compared with the previous quarter which saw considerable activity. Value-wise, total Q3 2010 recorded funding volume grew 6% year-on-year to $570m, which also represents a 19% decline compared to the previous quarter.
• The average deal value grew from $7.6m in Q2 2010 to $8m.
