Netflix has launched its first streaming-only plan in the US which marks the company's first significant step in its evolution from online DVD rental business to next-generation pay-TV network. However, big media organizations may curtail future studio content licensing deals in favour of either migrating Netflix into a relationship with their broadcast and cable networks - along the lines of Netflix's deals with Starz and Epix - or launching their own over the top networks to reach consumers directly.
