Why Blu-ray won't plug DVD's Int'l home entertainment gap

Following disappointing hardware and software sales in key international (outside North America) territories in 2009, Screen Digest believes that Blu-ray Disc (BD) will not now compensate for declining DVD spending on buying home entertainment in even the short term. Instead we expect International consumer spending on buying packaged media to fall from $17.1bn in 2009 to $14.5bn by 2014 - a CAGR of -3.3%.
