With nearly half of its movie theatres counting at least one digital screen, the British capital is by far the leading western European city for the digital transition of cinema sites. However, in 2008 London gained only one new d-screen, while the total of Parisian d-screens doubled. During 2009, there were about 25 new d-screens in both London and Paris, so that they count respectively 112 and 51 d-screens at end 2009.
