European BD Tie Ratios to Stabilise
July 26, 2010 The number of DVDs bought each year by a DVD-enabled household - the DVD tie ratio, or buy rate - peaks in the first or second year after launch and then declines gradually over time. An ever-declining software tie ratio is a consistent metric worldwide across virtually all consumer electronics (CE) devices - CD players, games consoles and personal music players.
