Turkish Pay Satellite TV Develops

The Turkish satellite market is developed and competitive, with three operators at end 2009. Digiturk is the leading pay TV player in the market, with nearly 2.4m subscribers. The main provider of free-to-air (FTA) satellite TV is Turksat, which also offers pay TV services via cable. The third operator, D-Smart, is backed by Turkish media giant Dogan Yayin Holdings and entered the market in 2007.
