Beating the bears: US pay TV got stronger in the recession

Despite recessionary pressures and competition from alternate entertainment forms US subscription television service operators are still doing surprisingly well, with established operators all posting revenue and net subscriber gains in the first quarter of 2010. Satellite and telco operators continue to steal away video subscribers from cable operators while MSOs make up for their losses by adding voice and data "triple-play" subscribers.
