US rental down in 2010 but will halt ten-year slide in 2011

August 03, 2010

US video rental transactions are on track to grow for the third year running, though spending will decrease again in 2010; but then the market looks set to stabilize and actually post some reasonable mid-single-digit growth rates through 2014. Traditional rental continues to crumble, but lessening competition and studio windows limiting kiosk and subscription will help keep specialists in the game.
