Japan's historically weak retail video business showed healthy signs of growth in first half 2010, bucking the global trend, after growth in Blu-ray Disc (BD) sales built on flat DVD sales. The number of retail video discs shipped to trade in Japan grew by 10 per cent, according to January-June 2010 results released by local video software association JVA.
