New rental channels finally eclipse bricks-and-mortar

The continued migration of consumer spending on video rental away from traditional bricks-and-mortar to online rentals through Netflix and low-cost rental kiosks has finally tipped the balance of power: traditional rental spending is heading for a drop from 51% of the total in 2009 to just 36% by year's end.
