The removal of DRM requirements on digital music stores in 2007 has had no significant impact on digital music sales, with the growth of the market continuing to slow. Instead digital music has proved to be service-deiven, with the market leaders being those companies that provide customers with seamless, convenient experiences. This has some significant lessons for the emerging ebook market and initiatives like Ultarviolet.
