Q1 2012 games hardware: New handhelds, HD consoles prop waning market

Last year, the overall hardware market saw a moderate decline in unit sales, helped by the PS3 and Xbox 360 remaining competitive, and the arrival of a new handheld mitigating some of the weakness in the market. However, the first quarter of 2012 has produced another overall decline.
