The digitisation of cinemas is proceeding rapidly in most parts of the world and the focus of many is now turning to the second phase of the conversion of cinemas to digital technology: distribution. The digitisation of cinemas will not be complete until this phase is also done. This sector is developing a range of approaches to delivering content to cinemas, including satellite networks, fibre-based systems and the continuation of hard drives being sent out to cinemas.
