After many years of anticipation, the market for games on mobile phones finally arrived in Europe in 2003 and really began to blossom in 2004. Two factors were key. Second, downloadable technologies (and enabled handsets)— primarily Java-based—emerged to offer a compellingly simple (and billable) platform for the delivery of games.
