Comprehensive, constantly up-to-date forecasts


Our company and market level data is forecast five years and includes a minimum ten-year historical data run. We forecast all metrics individually before summing company-totals and then deriving market-level numbers. This hugely comprehensive methodology is unrivalled in the industry and means we can trace and analyse market changes at a level that other research providers cannot match. The individual company-level forecast for every key metric is always available to users.


Company and operator data


All operator and market-level data is broken down and split between analogue and digital distribution as well as pay and free TV business models. Additional services such as High-Definition TV (HDTV), DVR services, telephony and Internet are also split out for every operator that we cover. We take into account multi-set usage providing all summary data in two forms: "primary set" and total. This allows users to distinguish between the main form of television in the home and secondary forms, where used. The level of detail we collect at a company level provides an intrinsic 'sense-check' on all our data. Because we are covering all companies active in the market and have a detailed understanding of the total market, our forecasts have a strong foundation.


Country-level data


Our country-level data is provided in a standard grid. We've done the hard work and normalised all of the data so that every single metric is consistently defined and presented across all markets. Users can always be sure that the number they are using is wholly comparable with the same metric in any of the other 65 markets within the service. All of the detail in all of the operators within any given country is included within the country grids and all data is summarised in comprehensive, easy-to-use tables that give a big-picture market overview. Nothing is left out.


Regional data


We also present all of our data in single-metric tables that show a single measure for all 65 countries that we cover with a minimum 15-year data span that includes five-year forecasts. The invaluable tables provide a quick means of comparing numerous markets in one quick view as well as giving regional totals for Western Europe, Eastern Europe, European Union (including all 27 member states), North America, South and Central America, Asia-Pacific and Africa and the Middle East.


Company ranking


We provide tables that rank key company-level metrics (like digital subscribers, HDTV subscribers, revenue) for all of the companies in all of the 65 markets that we cover. The data includes histroic and forecast data runs and allows users to rank the hundreds of companies included within the service by key performance indicators.
